Meotim, creator of Comick, explains the reasons behind the closure of the site

I’m sorry everyone, because of my fatal mistakes, Comick had to close.
Comick created it in early 2021. Back then, I noticed that almost all manga sites were slow and outdated, so I thought I could do something better. When Comick became popular in 2023, my dream was to make it the best manga site in the world, surpassing everyone else. Over time, he could also help the scanning and translation teams and no one had to deal with bad ads if Comick would master it completely.
But my big mistake was not anticipating that the publishers were going to so aggressively chase the unlicensed manga sites from the start. I focused too much on Comick’s functions and neglected other aspects. In addition, almost all CDN, Cloudflare and domain providers shared my information with ease. The publishers got my actual data before I understood the severity of the situation.
The reason is that I have always been an honest and direct person, without a wife yet, and I thought that I was not doing anything wrong and that I did not need to hide my identity. I was naive and believed that I could even buy licenses if Comick grew enough, like Crunchyroll did.
In the end, I couldn’t fulfill my dream. I’m so sorry I couldn’t keep Comick for everyone. I hope that someone with more skills than me comes up, who gets only the minimum income from advertising and helping the scanning and translation teams, someone who can continue what I couldn’t finish building.

the platform COMICK It was widely recognized among manga fans. In August alone, the site received around 125 million views, and in the previous three months it exceeded the 375 million, According to data from similarweb, which demonstrates its great influence and popularity within the community.
