Kou Yamori is an average student struggling to understand the complex concept of love. Since he doesn’t make much sense to follow the rule, he soon stops attending school. Afflicted with insomnia due to her idleness, Kou begins to wander the lonely streets at night.
One night, Kou meets a strange girl named Nazuna Nanakusa, who believes that people stay awake at night because she is not satisfied with the way she has spent the day and cannot rest until she frees her inhibitions. Nazuna offers to help Kou with her sleep problems and invites him to her house, where she convinces him to share futon with her. Kou feels uncomfortable and just pretends to fall asleep, but then Nazuna bites him in the neck and reveals that she is a vampire.
Although Kou believes that the bite will make him a vampire, the transformation is not so simple: to change, he must be bitten by someone he really loves. Determined to leave behind his sad mortal life, Kou sets himself a new goal: falling in love with Nazuna and becoming a vampire himself.
